BOY SCOUTS, LAKE HURON COUNCIL (662-4464) - Instructs Clare County youth ages 6-18 in character development, citizenship, physical/mental fitness, self-reliance, ethical decision making, and self-esteem to achieve full potential and team building.

CATHOLIC FAMILY SERVICE (773-9328) Provides professional and effective counseling for individuals, couples and families.

CHILD ADVOCACY 4C OF CENTRAL MICHIGAN (800-552-4489)- a childcare resource and referral agency serving Clare, Gladwin, Isabella and Gratiot counties. Childcare services are available at no cost to parents and licensed childcare providers and aides.

CLARE COUNTY YOUTH COUNCIL (539-8894) Addresses the problem of child abuse and neglect by identifying, coordinating, facilitating, and initiating prevention and intervention services.

COUNCIL ON AGING (426-5450) or (800-952-3160) - Serves and assists older persons, especially those at risk, due to health, mobility, and economic reasons.

HARD TIMES CAFE (539-2482) - Helps disadvantaged people to meet immediate needs while developing skills, motivation and opportunities to become self-sufficient.

HUMAN AID, INC. (386-3405) - A substance abuse counseling and education program. Individual, group and family counseling, school based prevention and education, community based prevention and education, information and referral, evaluation services.

LISTENING EAR CRISIS CENTER (386-2774) Focuses on people's strengths and is dedicated to supporting people by providing a 24-hour Crisis Line, resources and referrals, foster care, residential care, and runaway and sexual assault treatment programs.

LITERACY COUNCIL (386-8040) - Provides private, confidential tutoring to adults who are non-readers or low-level readers.

MID-MICHIGAN BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS (386-9304) - Qualified staff match youth, primarily from single parent families, with carefully screened volunteer mentors. Matches are monitored and provided with support, guidance, and activities.

MID-MICHIGAN COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY (386-3805) -

MID-MICHIGAN INDUSTRIES (386-7707) MMI is a private not-for-profit organization that provides jobs and training for persons with barriers to employment. In addition, MMI provides mentoring services to at-risk youth.

MIDMICHIGAN VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION/HOSPICE (800-852-9350) Provides nursing home health aide assistance, physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, and social work for patients at home. Hospice and grief recovery support. Specialty programs.

MITTEN BAY GIRL SCOUTS (799-9565) Provides contemporary programming for girls ages 5-17 in the areas of contributing to society, developing values, relating to others, and developing self potential.

SALVATION ARMY (989-429-3944) - Provides emergency services and referrals, comfort and counseling through local volunteers.

VOLUNTEER CENTER OF CLARE COUNTY (386-6015) - Provides assistance to Clare County agencies and organizations in recruiting and placing volunteers. Works with the community to encourage and promote volunteerism in Clare County.

WOMEN'S AID SERVICE (539-1046) Domestic violence and sexual assault programs. Shelter, counseling, groups, referrals, Batterers' program, 24-hour crisis line. Collect calls accepted.
